As outlined in chapter D.8.1 What is a Dossier?, a Dossier is a read-only snap-shot of the raw data. It cannot be edited. However, it is indeed by possible to copy Endpoint study or summary records to the IUCLID clipboard. Such copied records can be pasted in other Substance, Mixture or Template datasets (see instructions in chapter D.4.7.9 Copying Endpoint study records). Depending on whether a "Copy-protect" was set when the Dossier was created (see chapter D.8.2 Creating Dossiers), i.e.:
If the Dossier is copy-protected, only a reference to the corresponding Dossier record can be pasted. For instructions, see chapter D.4.7.10 Referencing Endpoint study records to another Substance dataset.
If the Dossier is not copy-protected, copied records can be pasted in any dataset.
Pasted (non-copy protected) records cannot be edited in the target dataset. Since such records are denoted by the same green record symbol as any other editable record, the write-protected records can only indirectly be identified based on whether the Edit button on the toolbar is active or not.
