The Annotations feature provided on the Information window can also be used to make annotations on data compiled in a Dossier. As regards the principles of this feature, refer to the guidance given for annotating Endpoint study records in chapter D.4.9.6 Tab "Annotations".
As described in that chapter, the following commands are specific for the annotation feature in the Dossier layer:
Show/Hide associated annotations command from toolbar: To display or hide all annotations made in the raw data layer, i.e. in the Substance dataset used to create the Dossier, provided the source dataset has been provided together with the Dossier. By default associated annotations are hidden. If displayed, their background colour is green as opposed to white for annotations added in the Dossier layer.
Associated annotations can be edited by selecting the Edit command.
Go to referenced document command on right-click or from toolbar: To navigate to the associated annotation and hence, the record in the Substance dataset.
The term "referenced document" here means a record in the raw data layer to which it is referred to in a Dossier. It should not be mistaken with "referenced record" (see chapter D.4.7.10 Referencing Endpoint study records to another Substance dataset).
Annotations can be created for any IUCLID element. As a general rule, the Annotations tab provided in the Information window is related to the very record displayed in the above Data entry window. This can be the Dossier, an Endpoint study or summary record of any Substance contained in the Dossier, the Legal entity, Legal entity site etc.
