IUCLID5 offers a plugin system which has been developed to extend the functionality of the application in the future without a major redeployment which would require from the users a de-installation of their working IUCLID application followed by a complete re-installation process.
Example of plugin usage includes an advanced query module on properties of substances.
Note
IUCLID 5 carries the default Migration tool plugin (see chapter D.17 Migrate data (migrate data from IUCLID 4 to IUCLID 5 format)).
New plugins will be made available through the IUCLID web site. Download and installation instructions and all necessary information will be provided to:
Download the plugin.
Save the plugin into your local workstation.
Install the plugin in your application.
Use the plugin, once installed.
IUCLID plugins rely on the user interface of the main application. They appear in the IUCLID5 Task Panel in the Plugins area and in the main menu toolbar, as illustrated for the Migration tool plugin into the following screenshot.
